After joining the national network of microbial collections (Joint Research Unit MIRRI-IT), the Italian node of the European research infrastructure MIRRI-EU, and the recognition, in 2023, by the World Federation for Culture Collections (WFCC) and the European Culture Collections’ Organization (ECCO), the three MBDS Collections (Agris BNSS, UNISSCC and UNICA) have now obtained UNI EN ISO 9001:2015 certification.
Furthermore, pending the establishment of the Regional Repertoire of Microbial Resources, the MBDS Catalogue, currently available on this site with over 2,300 strains of bacteria, yeasts and fungi, isolated from various matrices of agricultural and food interest, has become the reference for the Sardinia Region Germplasm Bank for agri-food (BRGAgriS) (L.R. 16/2014) of which the Agris Agency is the holder and the two Universities constitute the external sections.
